Anti-Science and Truth; Inclusive Philosophies
An interview with Nima Bassiri; five masterclasses convened by Paul Giladi
Dear all,
Special thanks this week to both Audrey Borowski and Paul Giladi for their hard working putting together two very exciting series that will be happening soon. Audrey has now finalised the line-up for the second installment of her awesome “AI and the Digital” series which will be beginning next month (you can watch video recordings from the first series here). Poster and full information to follow shortly. And the poster for Paul’s series of five masterclasses on “Inclusive Philosophies” can be found below.

“Science, Anti-Science, Pseudoscience, Truth”
a conversation with Nima Bassiri
In this conversation, critical theorist Nima Bassiri explores the spectre of “anti-science” in the Western political imaginary and, concomitantly, how the humanistic categories of “critique” and “critical theory” have been increasingly perceived as complicit with, and as providing intellectual succour for, scientific scepticism and, as such, culpable not only with the erosion of scientific truth but with core tenets of liberal democracy itself. You can read the conversation here.
Inclusive Philosophies: Five Masterclasses
To mark the two-week British Philosophical Association-led #PhilosophyMatters campaign running from 17th-31st March, our new managing editor Paul Giladi has put together five fantastic Zoom “masterclasses” on a range of inclusive philosophies. Tickets will be available later this month. The groups will be free to attend, but places will be very limited and priority access will go to our Patreon members. For now, here is the poster (designed, as always, by Nick Halliday):
