"Violence": Guest-Edited by Brad Evans
Our new print issue is available for pre-order with 10% discount
Dear all,
I am excited to announce that our new print issue is now available for pre-order with a 10% discount.
The theme is “Violence” and it is guest-edited by one of the world’s leading authorities on the philosophy of violence, Brad Evans. For those of you who attended some of Brad’s wonderful events last year on “A Century of Violence”, transcripts of those conversations are included.
The issue also features a section on “Disappearance and Oblivion”. As Brad notes in his editorial, “If there is such a thing as an extreme threshold for violence, beyond it we encounter the violence of disappearance and oblivion. Asking what philosophy, testimony, and critical enquiry can offer in terms of response, we begin this volume with a section looking at how the strategy of disappearance and human annihilation are the surest indications of the violence of nihilism and the weaponisation of nothingness.” The issue also features artwork from Chantal Meza, a Mexican artist whose work has intimately dealt with the issues of disappearance and violence. You can find out more and pre-order the new issue with a 10% discount here.
Does the fact that the majority of violence is from men get a mention?
