Being kind and being right are worthy approaches, but both can pose risks. Concealing a difficult truth in the interest of kindness may do more harm than good. But needing to "be right" all the time is selfish, and sometimes "speaking the truth" is a form of manipulation or aggression.
Kindness is never truly altruistic and relies on a moral principle being a decision to act kindly,it may become autonomous with regular use but relies on positive reinforcement which is reciprocal in appreciation hence why it is not altruistic. As regards groups how about a deep dive into neitzche and freud?

A reading group on Stanley Cavell's Claim of Reason would be wonderful
Thanks Helmut, that is an exciting idea! Let me have a chat with the editorial team about it...

Thanks for the comment and suggestion. I have noted the Nietzsche/Freud angle. I think it would be a popular group to run!
